Free agent guard Donte DiVincenzo has agreed to a two-year, $9.3 million deal to join the Golden State Warriors next season, a league source confirmed to The Chronicle on Friday. The second year of his contract will include a player option.

DiVincenzo, 25, was drafted 17th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018, where he spent the first four seasons of his career. The former Villanova standout started 66 games for the Bucks during their championship season in 2020-21, but didn’t play in any playoff games after the first round because of a severe left ankle injury suffered against the Miami Heat.

DiVincenzo returned to the court in late December of last season, only to be thrown into a four-team trade in February that landed him with the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals in 25 games with Sacramento. The Kings declined to extend him a qualifying offer this offseason, leaving him free to sign with any team.

When healthy, DiVincenzo can defend on the perimeter, knock down jumpers, run the floor and bring great energy to the Warriors’ rotation. His presence will help replace the production of Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr., who were both lost to free agency since Thursday.
