Michigan 4-star edge target Jaxon Howard sets commitment date

Minneapolis Robbinsdale Cooper 2023 four-star edge defender and tight end Jaxon Howard,

who is set to take an official visit Ann Arbor this weekend, announced Wednesday night that he will make his college commitment on July 1.

The No. 96 overall prospect nationally, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings, will choose between Michigan, LSU, Minnesota and Miami.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder has already taken an official visit to Minnesota this month and is slated to make trips to Miami and LSU later in June.

The Wolverines are still without an edge rusher and tight end in their 2023 class as their commitment drought is approaching nearly three months.

Michigan’s class currently ranks No. 38 nationally with six commits, but adding Howard, the son of former NFL defensive lineman Willie Howard, would be a major boost.

“Has been recruited as both a tight end and defensive lineman and has played both positions at the high school level,” 247Sports
