Jay Rodriguez, Maxwel Cornet & the Burnley injury list as Mike Jackson explains Wout Weghorst sub

Burnley hope to have Jay Rodriguez and Maxwel Cornet fit for the visit of Aston Villa next weekend while Mike Jackson confirmed

The frontman was taken off on the hour mark and replaced by Ashley Barnes, who played his part in Burnley overturning a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1.

Barnes hit the bar with a close range header and unsettled the visitors' backline with a strong cameo.

Weghorst, meanwhile, didn't get a sight at goal and didn't look best pleased at being substituted.

The Dutchman has scored only once since joining the club and Jackson felt a change up front was necessary.

Especially with strikers and wide players, they often come off because you are trying to change the intensity so there is no problem.

He gets the crowd wrapped up, wraps the centre-backs up and they start taking their eye off it a little.

I was delighted and again it is another lad coming on who has had a big impact on the game and that's all you can ask of him."
