Ex-Giant Case Cookus leads Stars to USFL Championship Game

Former New York Giants quarterback Case Cookus is making the most of his second chance in the USFL.

And on Saturday, he helped lead the Philadelphia Stars over the New Jersey Generals in one of the league’s two semifinal games.

Cookus completed 10 of his 20 passes for 133 yards and one interception, but it was on the ground where he made a difference.

The 26-year-old rushed the ball four times for 39 yards and one key touchdown in the 19-14 upset victory.

On the season, Cookus completed 62.5% of his passes for 1,334 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions.

He gained an additional 217 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries.

Cookus was signed by the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Northern Arizona in 2020
