Celtic vs. Rangers result & highlights: Starfelt's own goal sees Van Bronckhorst's men win the heated semi-final

An extra-time own goal from Carl Starfelt saw Rangers battle from behind to beat Celtic 2-1 and reach the Scottish Cup final on Sunday.

Starfelt turned Calvin Bassey's cross into his own net to send Rangers fans into raptures after Scott Arfield had cancelled out Greg Taylor's second-half opener.

The game at Hampden Park was played at a frenetic pace, with nobody having time on the ball, and it was end to end for much of the match as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's

side made light of having played extra time in the Europa League quarter-finals just three days earlier.

Both sides had chances in the first half, although neither goalkeeper was overly worked.

Rangers would have been more pleased with their performance going in at half-time, despite the withdrawal of Aaron Ramsey.

Their goal came from a quickly taken free-kick, the ball fed into Greg Taylor on the edge of the area as the Rangers defence were caught completely unawares
