Today’s ‘Wordle’ #365 Hint And Answer: Sunday, June 19th

As you may have noticed, today’s is the 365th Wordle word of the day. You know what that means! It’s Wordle’s birthday!

Happy Birthday, Wordle!

One year ago today, the very first Wordle was born, though it wasn’t until a few months later that the game was made public in October.

The very first word was pretty appropriate for the birth of a brand new baby puzzle game: cigar.

It’s also fitting because today is Father’s Day, and it’s usually the dads who give and receive cigars when a baby is born. Happy Father’s Day to all you dad Wordlers out there, too!

Well, today’s word is not quite as on the nose. Let’s take a look at it shall we? Scroll down further for today’s hint and answer, or read on for an overview of the game.

How To Play Wordle

Wordle is a pretty straightforward game. First, head to the game’s homepage at the New York Times (it’s not an app on the App Store or Google Play, though there are many imitators).

Wordle is free-to-play and only has minimalistic ads for the NYTs other games, most of which sit behind the paywall but are well worth your money if you enjoy puzzles.

You’ll find six rows of five boxes. These represent your six guesses. Type in a word and hit ‘Enter’ and any correct letters you get will show up in colored boxes: Green if it’s in the right spot, yellow if it’s in the wrong spot. If a box is grey that means the letter is not in the solution. Through process of elimination, determine the answer by the sixth guess.

Spoiler warning for you, spoiler warning for you, spoiler warning spoiler warning spoiler warning for you! And many more….on channel four….and Scooby Dooooo…on channel twooooo….

But first, a hint: ‘…..so why don’t you kill me.’

And the answer is . . . .

Dang, I sort of feel insulted by this Wordle word of the day.

It’s like, you get to the finish line and it calls you a loser what the heck!?

In any case, my opening guess feast didn’t get me very far, though it eliminated a couple common letters. I chose feast because it’s Wordle’s birthday and it was a celebratory word.

Shore got me four letters in yellow and, I discovered later, narrowed down my potential solutions to just two: loser and poser. Not knowing this at the time, I came up with another word that made me think of celebrations and birthdays: roses. Of course, I knew this couldn’t be a correct answer since plural words are never the correct answer, but it at least got me to the correct guess on the next try.

Wordle Bot mostly frowned at my performance but I don’t care. Wordle Bot can eat dirt for all I care.

Happy birthday Wordle! ¡Feliz cumpleaños! 生日快樂

And have a great Father’s Day dads!
