Paul McCartney Kicks Off 80th Birthday With Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi

Paul McCartney kicked off his upcoming 80th birthday in true rockstar fashion.

On the final North American leg of his “Got Back” tour held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, McCartney welcomed some surprise guests to perform with him, causing the crowd to go absolutely wild.

The Beatles’ member had long-time pals Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi join him on stage for an electric and celebratory night of classic music.

“Seeing Paul and Bruce together is nothing short of magical,” concertgoer Brian Marschhauser, 34, told The Post.

“A local boy is going to join us,” McCartney teased the crowd.

McCartney and Springsteen joined forces to deliver 1984-anthem “Glory Days” from Springsteen’s album Born In The U.S.A., then leading into early Beatles’ track “I Wanna Be Your Man,” which McCartney penned in 1963 with his former bandmate, the late John Lennon.

“Bruce sounded incredible during ‘Glory Days.’ He’s definitely in form for his own upcoming tour. To see those musical icons performing at this level in 2022 is special,” Marschhauser added.

In September 2017, Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt joined McCartney at New York City’s Madison Square Garden to perform “I Saw Her Standing There” twice. This is the first time the two have graced the stage together since.

“Here’s to 80 more years of glory days,” Springsteen said after the duo’s crowd-pleasing presentation on Thursday.

The concert was almost at its end when everyone—Paul included—got yet another surprise. Jon Bon Jovi, holding a bundle of balloons, appeared on stage to sing “Happy Birthday” to his long-time friend, who turns 80 on Saturday, June 18, 2022.

“Paul was clearly surprised when a few thousand of the audience members began singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him,” concertgoer Raymond Lozada-Negron told The Post. “You could tell that Paul did not expect that. Bon Jovi gave Paul a kiss before he handed Paul the birthday balloon.”

“Paul always has the audience eating out of his hand. For 80 years old, he is singing and playing guitar and piano better than kids in their 20s and Paul always plays for three hours at every concert — without taking a break,” Lozada-Negron added.

The moment was a memorable one for everyone who was there to witness it. McCartney was so touched, he took to social media to share a photo of his birthday surprise after the concert.

The legendary musician is set to headline at Glastonbury Festival on June 24 in his homeland of England.
