Just moments ago, Jaylon Ferguson’s agent Safarrah Lawson released the following statement:

“It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Baltimore Ravens LB Jaylon Ferguson. The family asks for your prayers and privacy during this trying time.”

The Ravens have also released a statement to offer their condolences.

“We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson. He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and an infectious personality. We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.

During his three seasons in the NFL, Ferguson played in 38 games (10 starts). During those games, he picked up 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Prior to the 2021 season, Ferguson explained how much his veteran teammates had helped him grow since coming in as a rookie.

“…Between him, Pernell [McPhee], Tyus Bowser, even Calais Campbell – he helped me out – Derek Wolfe, especially, because he’s got the ferocity inside, but he’s still got all the moves … Just being with guys like that, I’m learning not to look at, so much, physical stuff, [but to look at] little keys, like which way they’re moving, which way they’re leaning, pre-snap stuff to help me. Before, I would just look at a player, just thinking that I can beat him by myself.”

By all accounts, Jaylon Ferguson was an outstanding young man and he will clearly be missed by all.

Rest in Peace, Jaylon.
